The packing tape we use ourselves. Most of what's labeled "heavy-duty" at the office store is 1.6 to 1.8 mil — thin enough that a corner can split a long shipment in two. This one is a true 2.6 mil, designed for cartons in the 40–80 lb range that ship rough.
Use it with a heavy dispenser (ours, or any standard 2-inch model) for clean one-handed tear and a strong seal even on dusty cardboard.
